He is adored by millions. Terrorists have laid their weapons at his feet. Nobody has ever seen him utter a word in anger. Truth and love have been his constant motto in life. Yet, much of the media has maligned His Holiness Sri Sri Ravi Shankar after the shooting incident of Sunday (May 30) in Bangalore, and he has more or less been accused of lying. The truth is that at the moment there is a witchhunt against Hindu gurus.

It started with the Shankaracharya, then Swami Nityananda was thrown in jail for 45 days, for allegedly having consensual sex with a woman. Today, the media and the government are trying to malign Sri Sri Ravi Shankar in the eyes of his disciples and Indians in general. Who is next?

One should analyse why Hindus are so much under attack at the moment. First, there is such a thing as karma. Hindus have often betrayed each other and have become lethargic, complacent and sometimes arrogant. Secondly, there are at the moment combined forces, which are assaulting Hinduism, knowingly or unknowingly, consciously or unconsciously, openly or covertly.

First you have as a pivotal leader of this country, a person, who whatever her qualities of honesty, hard work and dedication, is a Christian — it would be impossible in a Christian dominated country, such as France, to have a Hindu as the ‘Eminence Grise’ behind the scenes.

Secondly many of India’s present leaders, are of a Marxist bent of mind, which considers religion as an old fashioned and eventually to be rid off (but mind you, they will not touch at Christianity or Islam); this is why in the land of yoga, yogic and spiritual organisations are being taxed today.

Thirdly, Christian conversions have never been this rapid, even at the time of the British: statistics say only three per cent of Indians are Christians, but you will be surprised at the new census: after the tsunami, at least 12 per cent of the Tamil Nadu coast has been converted with millions of dollars given by gullible Westerners. Indian Muslims working in the Gulf have also brought back to India a more radical brand of Islam, which indirectly helped in fuelling the violent anti-Hindu waves of terrorist attacks. Indeed, there is no way Pakistani terrorists can function without local Muslim help and encouragement.

Finally, Westernisation through television and advertisements, is sweeping across India, and this may be the greatest danger, as westernisation has killed the souls of many Asian countries.

The Christians have a Pope, the Muslims the word of the Quran, communists have Das Kapital of Karl Marx. But Hindus are totally disunited. Hindus are busy at the moment making as much money as possible and aping the western way of life, not even bothering to teach their children Hindu values and culture, whereas every Muslim child is told about the Quran. Hindu groups in the US or the UK, are constantly fighting each other and thus have very little lobbying power, contrary to the Indian Muslims or the Christians, who are able to deny visas to a chief minister whose state runs efficiently and without corruption. It is said that even the Hindu deities and goddesses are jealous of each other.

It is thus of vital importance that Hindu gurus and swamis regroup under one umbrella which could be called the ‘Supreme Hindu Council’. Each group and guru will retain its leadership and autonomy but will meet three times a year and issue a number of adesh, which will be binding to 800 million Hindus in India and a billion worldwide.

There are too many gurus and swamis all over India and the world and it would not be possible to assemble them all in one group. Thus I propose that the 12 gurus in India who have the most disciples, represent all the other swamis and gurus. Amongst them, of course, we should find Satya Sai Baba, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, Amrita Anandmayi, the Shankaracharya of Kancheepuram, Guruma of Ganeshpuri, Shri Ramdev, Satguru Jaggi, etc.

The leadership of this group will be rotated every year and so can membership for that matter, as there are quite a few other gurus of India who have a huge following.

It is not only Hinduism which is at stake, but the ‘Knowledge Infinite’ which came down, through the ages and has survived today only in India in a partial form. This knowledge only can save the world. Let Hindus understand that not only do they have the numbers, but also that they are one of the most successful, law abiding and powerful communities in the world. Nobody should denigrate their gurus.

Bihar BJP with or against JD(U)?

Though not very important, here was have two news reports, each giving news contradicting the other.

http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/City/Patna/Bihar-BJP-against-ending-JDU-ties/articleshow/6084554.cms

"The state BJP leaders are in favour of continuating the alliance with JD(U) and contesting the coming assembly election unitedly. Both deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi and senior BJP leader and state NDA convener Nand Kishore Yadav are understood to have forcefully pleaded before the Central leaders the need to maintain the coalition with ‘samman’"

http://www.indianexpress.com/news/-Hurt--BJP-talks-tough-on-Nitish/637787

"With its Bihar leadership indicating its willingness to sacrifice the alliance with the JD(U) for the sake of self-respect, the BJP top brass on Wednesday once again talked tough."

Media Vs Modi

While Narendra Modi's achievements speak for themselves, we see the main stream media trying hard to undermine his stature...

http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/india/Shibli-girl-fears-speaking-up-against-Modi/articleshow/6042578.cms

"In contrast to the gutsy Shahla, Fauzia Zarin is traumatized. The episode and its implications amidst rumours of a threat perception from Modi doing the rounds have greatly upset her family."

It is shocking how the Times of India is insinuating that Gujarat CM is some kind of hoodlum who has threatened and traumatized some "innocent" Muslim girl! I wonder how much of these words are the girls and how much the reporter/editor's!!

http://www.timesnow.tv/articleshow/4347282.cms

The headline says "Narendra Modi's ad 'goof up' ". Another NaMo bashing news channel, Times Now, affiliated to the times group, implies that the advertisement of NaMo and Nitish Kumar was NaMo's personal endeavor. Reading this type of headlines one must think our Gujarat CM is a foolish person!

Finally, there was an article in the Indian Express wherein the editor attacks Modi's govt. as well as Modi personally and accuses the Gujarat govt has deliberately shortchanging the Muslim population.

http://www.indianexpress.com/news/Hard-facts-to-face/622193

Here is a letter written by a Gujarat administrator to IE clarifying the truth.

http://www.indianexpress.com/news/hard-facts/623677/0

The most shocking part is that this article is not just some article in the IE but written by the editor who decides what track the paper will take. After reading his clear anti Modi bias it is clear what stand the IE will take on this issue.

Note: The NIE (New Indian Express) edited by Aditya Sinha is relatively less biased.

Oh! The Poor Terrorist!

For once that I thought something decent came out of much relived Sagarika Ghose reading through her latest blog on Mamata Banerjee's thumping victory in the recent Bengal polls. But she gave it all away in the end with the usual apologies offered by the left intelligentsia to cover up the belligerence of Islamic terrorists and the maoists. Sample this

"But it's the plebian grassroots leaders who have the power to ensure that we do not become Pakistan where the rich control politics and the poor blow themselves up out of desperation, either as Maoists or jihadists."

Its true that India and Pakistan have remained feudal to a great extent, in many ways more so is Pakistan. Its also possible that the poor would be the most vulnerable to such propaganda. But does that take away from recognizing the essential goals of the two totalitarian ideologies Maoism and Islam? The Fort Hood Incident as well the failed Times square bombing has shred this vile proposition of poverty breeds terrorism to pieces. Its an undisputed fact that the real support for the naxal movement is coming from Champagne liberals like Arundati Roy, Rahul Bose et all. The anti-national protests at the Center for Left wing studies a.k.a JNU also stand testimony to this. With such glaring evidence in front how hard is it for the Media moghuls to see through the real agenda of two most dangerous ideologies?

Minority Appeasement, Reservation and Politics.

There is a talk going on in the Government circles for reservations for Muslims in Education and Govt jobs. There is also a talk about reservations in Private sectors. Most of the Indian states have reservations for Muslims which is against the constitution and certain political parties kill the constitution and democracy time and again.

This made me remember this old story my mom used to tell me when i was kid and this story me understand that Hard-work is what that makes you reach the top. Now this story has got no relevance in Today's Politics / policies our Govt is up to. The story goes like this.

OLD VERSION

The ant works hard in the withering heat all summer long building his house and laying up supplies for the winter. The grasshopper thinks the ant's a fool and laughs & dances & plays the summer away. Come winter, the ant is warm and well fed. The grasshopper has no food or shelter so he dies out in the cold.

The Way the certain political parties run politics with a Minority centric agenda has made this great story irrelevant in Today's day and age and the new or modern version of the story goes on like this.

MODERN VERSION

The ant works hard in the withering heat all summer long, building his house and laying up supplies for the winter. The grasshopper thinks the ant's a fool and laughs & dances & plays the summer away. Come winter, the shivering grasshopper calls a press conference and demands to know why the ant should be allowed to be warm and well fed while others are cold and starving.

NDTV, Times NOW, CNN-IBN show up to provide pictures of the Shivering grasshopper next to a video of the ant in his comfortable home with a table filled with food. The world is stunned by the sharp contrast. How can this be that this poor grasshopper is allowed to suffer so?

Arundhati Roy stages a demonstration in front of the Ant's' house.

Human Rights Group goes on a fast along with other grasshoppers demanding that grasshoppers be relocated to warmer climates during winter.

Amnesty International will criticize the Indian Government for not upholding the fundamental rights of the grasshopper. The Internet is flooded with online petitions seeking support to the grasshopper (many promising heaven and everlasting peace for prompt support as against the wrath of God for non-compliance).

MP's stage a walkout. Left parties call for "Bharat Bandh" in West Bengal and Kerala demanding a Judicial Enquiry. CPM in Kerala immediately passes a law preventing Ants from working hard in the heat so as to bring about equality of poverty among ants and grasshoppers.

Mamata Banerjee will announce the allocation of one free coach to Grasshoppers on all Indian Railway trains

Finally, the Judicial Committee drafts the Prevention Of Terrorism Against Grasshoppers Act [POTAGA]", with effect from the beginning of the winter.

Kapil Sibal makes Special Reservation for Grasshoppers in educational institutions & in Govt Services.
The ant is fined for failing to comply with POTAGA and, having nothing left to pay his retroactive taxes, his home is confiscated by the Government and handed over to the grasshopper in a ceremony covered by NDTV.

Arundhati Roy calls it "a triumph of justice". Lalu calls it 'Socialistic Justice'. People who do minority centric politics calls it the 'revolutionary resurgence of the Minorities'.

Reservation should not be given on the basis of religion .Reservation should be need based and should be given to economically weaker section of society to uplift them.

Is the Secular India We want? Think again? If it continues then the majority will become a minority in this country.

Fabrication on the way to the funeral - Arun Shourie

I found this brilliant article by Arun Shourie and thought it would be a good idea to put it on this blog since it gives an example of how the Indian media laps up any news deriding the Hindu right. It also showcases how the media does not bother to verify facts before making startling statements/announcements.

There are some gems by Shourie exposing the fraud historians as well...

http://www.hvk.org/Publications/fabrication.html

Excerpts:

""Rational vs. National," screams the headline of the new pall-bearer of secularism, the magazine Outlook...."

"
"Tampering with history," proclaims the old pall-bearer, The Hindu......"

"The next issue of the CPI(M) mouthpiece, Peoples Democracy, reproduces this editorial ! And carries with it an article by one of the ring-leaders, K. N. Panicker. "Saffronization of historical research," proclaims the heading. Panicker repeats the charge of the word "rational" having been replaced by "national". He adds another : the Memorandum of Association of the ICHR mentions five objectives, he says, but the Resolution put out by the Saffron-brigade mentions only two."

"I then ring up Mr. Vinod Mehta, the editor of Outlook. "But the reporter says she has the text and everything," he says. I narrate what I have found. He promises to check and get back to me. When we talk again he says he has sent me the text of the Resolution. But that is the current one. My point was that the "change" which Outlook had built its story on has existed in all Resolutions for at least twenty years. He says he will get back to me. That is where matters stand."

Maligning the Hindu Right...

Mr. Ramachandra Guha is a sociologist writer who was written on subjects related to history and politics. He is famous for his work "India after Gandhi: History of the worlds largest democracy" and is a regular contributor to 'The Telegraph'.

Here is an article written by him recently on the Maoist problem where he makes interesting points but tries hard to discredit the RSS. For one who has written a pretty massive book on the subject of Indian history and is supposed to be an expert on the subject, the mis-representations in this article are clearly deliberate.

http://www.telegraphindia.com/1100226/jsp/opinion/story_12145914.jsp

"Soon after the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi in January 1948, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh was banned. This was in part because Gandhi’s murderer, Nathuram Godse, had once been a member of the RSS; and in part because RSS leaders played a crucial role in the polarization of Hindu-Muslim relations that led to that tragic event."

Godse was a member of not just the RSS but also apparently of the Congress as well (Read the "Aftermath" section on this page). The author also cleverly chooses to not mention the real reasons for the Hindu-Muslim polarization and blames the RSS.

"In the short-term, the government of India might invoke the Naga model and follow the offer of a ceasefire by speaking to the Maoists. In the medium-term, it must look to the RSS model, whereby a group that once refused to recognize the Indian Constitution comes round to working within it. While in private some RSS leaders may still dream of a Hindu rashtra, in public they have accepted the legitimacy of the Indian State. In the same fashion, the Maoists must be persuaded, over a period of time, to give up their fantasy of a communist dictatorship, and work within the plural, multi-party, democratic process mandated by the Constitution of India."

Here the author equates the nationalist RSS with the Christian separatist Nagas and the blood thirsty Maoists!! It is a common ploy to name the person/group you want to malign by naming them in the same breath with unrelated and violent groups so that one thinks that they are in the same league. Guha gets it right when he blames the communists for the problems in West Bengal but tries to balance it by dragging in the RSS even though mentioning the RSS in this context was completely out of place.

While it is fine to be ideologically different from the RSS, equating them with such anti-national groups betrays a lack of intellectual and moral integrity which is not too uncommon with such analysts. It appears that Ramachandra Guha is of the same tribe as Romila Thapar, whose deception is brilliantly exposed by Arun Shourie in his book "Eminent Historians".

For interested people, here is a very good article on how communist historians misinterpret archeological discoveries to fit their world view.

Can we trust our newspapers?

Everyone knows that the purpose of having the Media is to mould public opinion. This is supposed to be done by collecting facts, analyzing them and then reporting the complete picture after verifying the facts. The Indian media unfortunately is stuck in the pattern of publishing scandalous stories with very little cross checking of facts. The worst part being that these stories actually have great potential to cause social unrest between communities and people.

Here we see three news reports on the very same incident with very different facts! One wonders if anything in these news articles is even real! Gossip seems to be "breaking news" in India.

Bane Of Being a Hindu In India

The country’s politics has become minority centric. This facet comes into sharper focus at the time of election because that is the occasion to decide the destiny of the country. Varun Gandhi would have got away unnoticed had he said all that he had allegedly said to protect the Muslims or even a Kasab, Shahabuddin or Mohammad Afzal Guru instead of the Hindus. The issue is not the use of religion in politics but the use of wrong religion on a right occasion.

The country has lost over 7000 innocent citizens in terror attacks in the last five years as part of the Jehadi design to inflict a thousand cuts to destroy India. But the Congress is silent on fighting terror. Rather it claims terrorists have no religion. Terror patrons in the country are honourable men. They are the torch-bearers of secularism.

The Congress is openly seeking the support of ulemas of Deoband, Jamaat-e-Islami and Maulavis of Bahralvi, Imam of Jama Masjid and Bangladeshi infiltrators on purely communal lines. But neither the Election Commission nor the media accuses it of communal politics. The media does not expose them either. In Mizoram, Nagaland and other North-eastern states, the Congress plays Christian card promising the land of the Bible, but it gets away in the name of secularism.

The Prime Minister in 2008 in Chief Minister’s Conference said, the First Right of Natural Resources is for the Minorities read Muslims. Is this not a Communal Statement?? Media did not make this into a issue. It gave a beautiful spin that PM did not say that; and the media said Mr.Modi Gujarat CM is making it into a non issue into a big issue. I would have been happy if the PM if the PM had said the Poor in India has first right for the Natural Resources.

The congress openly seeking/taking support from Church and Madrasas will not be HIGHLIGHTED by the media. If BJP takes support from Sangh parivar for certain issues then it becomes a CRIME, National Media goes after BJP.

I call this kind of politics by Congress as Competitive Communalism. This is the kind of communalism that the media fails to notice, Or should I say Media is suffering from Dirithrastra Syndrome. This kind of communalism is very dangerous for the Fabric Called Bharat.

The point is that all the breast beating and moral indignation and trial by media are exclusively reserved for the Hindus

Like a lynch mob the media create the macabre atmospheric for the partisan establishment to convict and crucify. So we stand by anybody and everybody who speak for the Hindu. Because we want to make Indian polity Hindu centric. "...

Media Objectivity?

"Stoking a fresh controversy, Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday sought to know what good has Children's Day done for kids." .......

You can read the full text of the article here at ibnlive
The people at the helm of affairs at the distinguished news portal a husband-wife team who also happen to be Rhodes Scholars failed to find anything significant in the 25 pages odd vision document presented by Shri. Narendra Modi other than a few lines of criticism against Nehru? You can find the full text of the here.

Infact the speech is path-breaking in many ways for the precise reason that in a country which has been fed on socialistic propaganda for long, Shri. Narendra Modi speaks of making Indians self-reliant and less dependent on Government doles. As many people call it the Mantra of "Minimal Government Maximum Governance". Its also path-breaking for the precise reason that Photo-op sessions or love for children, poor, emaciated doesn't necessarily translate into a better living conditions for the aggrieved. Its been the first time in India that a leader after Shri. Rajaji of the erstwhile Swatantra Party has spoken about the dream of making India self-reliant and free. Instead of focusing on the salient points on governance and the role of governments highlighted by the indefatigable chief minister of Gujarat the media has been going ballistic against criticism of Nehru. Why is it so hard to even realize that if Nehruvian socialism was alive their pet media projects would never have seen light nor would they have laughed all the way to the bank the way they are doing now in the war of TRPs?

If this is the level of journalistic objectivity the English media espouses think about others? Or are we attaching too much of an importance to the Rhodes Scholars and the elitist English media??
